This sequel to Pittacus Lore’s Generation One is the second book in an epic new series set in the world of the #1 New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series.
Newcomers as well as fans of the original series will devour this fast-paced, action-packed sci-fi adventure that’s perfect for fans of Marvel’s X-Men, Alexandra Bracken’s Darkest Minds trilogy, and Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series.
The Human Garde Academy was created in the aftermath of an alien invasion of Earth. It was meant to provide a safe haven for teens across the globe who were suddenly developing incredible powers known as Legacies.
Taylor Cook was one of the newest students and had no idea if she’d ever fit in. But when she was mysteriously abducted, her friends broke every rule in the book to save her. In the process, they uncovered a secret organization that was not only behind Taylor’s kidnapping but also the disappearance of numerous teens with abilities. An organization that has dark roots in the Loric’s past, untold resources, and potentially even a mole at their own school.
Now these friends, who have become known to other students as the “Fugitive Six,” must work together to bring this mysterious group to an end before they can hurt anyone else.

A very good book and continuation of the series. The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because the first 2/3 of the book are very slow. I can see why this was done this way to show the characters growth and maturity. Also when you have 9 characters to develop in the same book it will get a bit slower. Just of the pace of the book is what made this very good instead of great.
The other thing I really like about this book is the classic X-men style of the book. The themes of racism, not fitting in and not knowing who to trust. Along with saving the world in many cases from itself. The are more appearances of the old heroes, but these are small, and I think that was the right decision because they would have overshadowed the Earth Grades, not allowing them to develop as much.
The last 1/3 of this book was beyond awesome. Lots of action revelations flying fast, and lots of action. Then then ending promising huge things to come. I can't wait for the next book. this was a bit of a setting the scene, but also showing the new characters so grow and make their own decisions.

I love these freaky teens. Like the Lorien Legacies teens, they are eventful and dramatic which is awesome! This one had some surprise reveals and a shocking turn of event at the end. Cannot wait for the next installment!
My quick and simple overall: loved it and I am so glad my reading slump is over!

perhaps we should live to fight another day
this book took a turn that i wasn't expecting at all, i hope theres another book in this series because it cannot end like that.
Plot: Fugitive Six picks right up after the events of Generation One and the group is back at the academy however things are not what they seem, with this secret group after human glades no one is safe. Even though this book doesn't contain a lot of action it does make up for it with so much character development, character returns and plot that just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Having the multiple POV'S is helping me with understanding the story better and it works really well while reading so i've enjoyed that.
So many of characters all have different conflicting ideas about how things should be going and especially with Ran and Isabella who voice their opinions very loudly to everyone. I think were on the brink of a civil war and things will be getting a lot more worse for everyone before they get better. Ran, Caleb and Isabella along with Five and Einar are all on one side of the fight where as Tayla, Kopano and Nigel are on the other so i think going into book three if we get one there will be a huge dynamic shift with everyone. I think also John and Nine will both choose different sides because of the way i think it's headed and i'm actually scared to see where it goes next with these two characters.
Five makes a return to the story and actually has a larger role then i was expecting him to have but he did change and shake things up a bit, i still have a strong dislike for this character. Also making an appearance is Agent Walker who also has a very big role in this book and i'm not sure if she will be back again but it will be interesting to see where her character fits. John, Sam and Six all also make small cameo appearances leaving only Ella and Maria from the original series not have made an appearance.
The story however did drag on a bit which does make for slower reading but i do praise the authors for making up for it with story progression, character development because other wise i would have clocked out from this book. However the last few chapters is absolutely crazy and i had to go back a few times to read them to make sure i got everything.
Taylor Cook: Taylor had a real tough time in the first book from discovering her powers, to getting to the academy to getting kidnapped then getting rescued she has already been through it all and its only the second book of the series. I think she has become a really great leader and asset to the academy and i think she will have to choose what she's really fighting for because i'm not 100% convinced that she even knows what she's doing. She did however really start to come out of her shell a bit more but i think she will have trouble with whats coming because civil war is coming and i don't think she will handle it well.
Kopano Okeke: This character is one of those characters i don't really think wants to get involved with anything but with him and Taylor starting something he will do anything to protect her and will end up fighting along side her, I don't want to see Kopano get hurt because as i said in my review for book one i think this character has one of the biggest hearts and has had everyone walk over him in regards to his powers. Kopano needs to fight back more and get that fire in him that i know he has deep down and with the war coming he will need it more then ever.
Caleb Crane: as i said in my review for book one i find Caleb interesting because there are still so many layers to his personality that i don't think we know everything to him just yet. Caleb however does get a lot more page time in this second book when he goes back to his family to deal with the death of his own father and we start to see how his personality is shaped by his own family and it was very interesting to see. I really didn't like his family in this book and the way they treated him was something that makes my blood boil and he just did sit back and let that happen, now i do believe he made the wrong choice in going with Ran.
Nigel Barnaby: Nigel continues to be one of my favourite characters from this spin off series because his character just jumps off the page with his loud and sarcastic personality which i love. I feel so sorry for Nigel because he is now stuck in the middle of this civil war that is about to come crashing and he just went on a side without really thinking about it, i would have love to see him just walk away from everyone and not participate in it because i think he will end up getting hurt the most because i feel like he has the less to lose or gain.
Ran Takeda: Ran really surprised me in this book because she literally left the academy and chose to be on Einar's side of this upcoming civil war and i'm really surprised. In the first book she comes off as real timid and really didn't like fighting or violence but in the last few chapters of this book did a complete 180 and has chosen a side and is willing to fight in this war that will surely get out of hand. I don't want to lose Ran or any of the other main characters but with them all choosing sides i think that will seal a few peoples fates. Ran's opinions are all valid but i was just shocked she actually left the academy and some of her friends behind because she feels like she doesn't belong and that makes me really sad.
Isabella Silva: Isabella is fighting for herself and she really did surprise me also because her opinions and feelings are different to those of the rest of her friends and the academy. Isabella is really learning to stand on her two feet and be the leader i know she can be, however it does make me sad that she did decide to leave. What Isabella said towards the end of the book really shocked me because she also feels like she doesn't belong and wants to venture alone with those who will accept her and it makes me sad that she doesn't feel accepted.
Nine: Nine has really changed since the finale of the original series i do miss the old nine when he would just charge into battle and be ready for a fight but this new Nine is different and i'm slowly starting to respect him more. I have a feeling that Nine and John will go head to head in the third book if we get one because the way this one ended John is seriously up to something that Nine will definitely be angry about.
Make no mistake, a war is what is happening. A great battle for control of people like you.
I do love how there are always little messages or themes throughout these books and it's so clear, we have racism, acceptance, not feeling wanted and so many more and these authors do a really good job at making sure these topics are all covered in the series.
John, Sam, Six and Five have all made appearances in this book and all i want now is to see Marina or Ella to make their first appearances because it doesn't feel complete until we see these two!
If you are a fan of the original 'I am Number Four' series i recommend you continue on with Generation one then read this one because you will get all types of nostalgia. However if you are new here i suggest you read the original series before reading this one as you will be spoiled during the reading of this series of some events that take place in the original series.

4.5 Stars
"Sorry I was so werid at first." "Don't be sorry." Taylor looked around. "I think we're all a little weird."
What a wild ride that was.
As the second book in this series it had to be faster. The world and new characteristics that are gonna form part of it are already in place, as well as the fact that we already know the characters, still, I was a bit sceptical about how all this was gonna play out.
Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when this turned out to be much more than I was expecting. It had a lot of action and good character development and it had me second guessing everything, which I always love, so I wasn't sure what was gonna happen at any point.
We follow 5 different POVs, all from different locations, and it was super cool to see the same things -major things- happen to all of them but how differently they reacted to them depending on the company.
Isabela is one of my least favorite new characters I may say though. I value how honest she is and all, but... well, if I knew her in real life I wouldn't be friends with her. I kinda wanted to smack her really hard at some points.
It has a bit of romance sprinkled in the story, the couples are cute but there isn't one, yet, that makes my heart go all warm and soft for them. They're not bad, they're just not quite there for me yet.
All in all the story was really good and, oh boy!, that ending was unexpected. I was so shocked when everything was happening. I still can't quite believe it - even though it makes perfect sense - I don't think I'm gonna recover from that one for a while.
"And what kind of friend would I be if I missed the debut performance of Nigel and the Clones, huh?" "A friend with eardrums," Isabela replied."

I cannot get over how amazing these books are. I’m SO happy they’ve continued with a spin-off series that has me just as hooked as the original. I love all the characters in this book and I liked the espionage that occurred. The ending....whoa! It’s a long wait until the next book but it’ll be worth it!
