I'm a warrior. No one will tame me, except…
Rhea's new position as General of Black Isles’ armies brings with it a whole host of challenges. The enemy is at the gates, and he's furious. Black Isles’ defenses are weaker than she would like, so she sees only one solution: to summon their secret weapon. A creature so untamed and powerful, he’s been banished to the depths of the dungeons, only to be let out in the direst of need. To ensure his cooperation, she will need to rely on more than just her combat skills…
The harder she makes it, the sweeter my victory when I claim her.
Saras has been asleep for centuries. When a female voice wakes him from his slumber, he knows there's only one way to avoid the disaster that led him to be confined to the dungeons in the first place. But she's unwilling and instead hopes to use his considerable powers in battle against Black Isles’ enemy. But a dragon has needs, and ignoring them will only end in tears; or in this case, in flames.
No matter how hard Rhea tries to deny it, the attraction between them is hard to ignore. But with the future of the Black Isles on the line, this is hardly the time for romance. Or is it? That's the thing about playing with dragon fire; sooner or later you're going to get burned.
A Dragon's Treasure is the third instalment in Lorelei Moone's brand new fantasy romance series, Shifters of Black Isle. Shifters, magic and relatable characters, set in a mysterious, distant land, where anything seems possible—and yet all its inhabitants hold dear could be destroyed in an instant.

Thrilling suspense and fascinating characters draw readers into the midst of this exciting story. The characters are strong and vivid which makes them come to life for the reader and the relationship between Rhea and Saras is very passionate although due to the length of the book there’s not a much of it because this book also has a lot of action as well. The story is fast paced and flows smoothly throughout giving readers insight into the characters and has an intense depicting of a major battle which adds suspense and excitement to the story. The story is a great read and the world is quite intriguing and readers will certainly enjoy it but the story could benefit from a bit longer with more details, especially in the relationship building between the hero and heroine. The story can be read as a standalone but the readers would have a better understanding of the character interactions by reading the stories in sequence.

REVIEW
Broc and Rhea are left to deal with the fallout and yet another threat from the Merpeople. It's time to bring in the big guns so to speak. When they release one who has long been asleep. Saras is a man who has a dark past, it has plagued him for centuries. Can this be his time of redemption?
One thing is for certain Rhea takes notice.
We have a very good story with action and romance.

You hear tales about dragons and everyone has a different way of how they are supposed to act and the majority of them reflect fear of a dragon. Let's just say that you are in a mythological world where dragons do exist. Would they be friendly? Would they terrorize villages? Would they be lonely? Moone depicts a world where a slumbering dragon has been awakened by the people of the Black Isles in hopes that it will be their salvation against the Sea Folk. Readers will be enamored by this novella and the story that Moone weaves for this third installment in her shifter fantasy romance series.
Rhea absolutely does not believe in love. There is no rhyme or reason why one should betray their command post over something so incomparable as honor. When the king married his new witch queen, Kelly, Rhea was furious. Jealousy invaded her every thought and rage blinded her to the importance of protecting her people. After Teaq leaves his brother's side for the woman of his dreams, Rhea is asked by the king to become the new General of the Black Isles. Believing that Teaq has sided with the enemy, they know that a war is soon to come. As the last strategy, the Elders suggest that the king awaken the dragon within their dungeons in exchange for their survival. Without the man power and weaponry needed to win a war against the Sea Folk, Saras, the dragon is their last hope. Rhea and Kelly willingly accept the task of waking the dragon and in exchange for his help to save their people, they will grant his freedom. What the two women fail to know is that Saras can take his freedom anytime he wants. Rhea was warned that dragons can be very difficult to barter with, but after figuring out what Saras wants is something that she is unwilling to give him, Rhea must decide what is the greater sacrifice--the lives of her people or her heart?
Moone has superb character development in this short story. The originality is fantastic as well as the fantasy element and world-building! This is a novella and the pace seems to be very quick, but the descriptiveness is vivid and allows the reader to be engulfed in the pages. If you are a reader of fantasy and romance, this may be perfect for you. The synopsis states that it is a standalone, which it can be read in this way; however, we recommend that these stories be read in chronological order. When you jump into this third installment, you are briefly updated on some of the obstacles that were faced in previous installments as well as light character knowledge, but it may be more enjoyable to read them beginning with the first installment because the scenes flow from one installment to another effortlessly and may make more sense.

A DRAGON'S TREASURE is book 3 in the Shifters of Black Isle series. Although there's a few recurring characters, it can be read as a standalone.
Rhea has just been appointed General of the Black Isle army. She needs to lead her soldiers against the Merfolk and prove to the king that she deserves the job. The Elders have declared their only hope of winning this war is awakening the dragon, Saras, who lies in sleep deep in the bowels of the king's castle. Will Saras help Rhea defeat the enemy?
I honestly don't read much from this genre so I'm not 100% sure but to me, the story had a historical/fantasy feel. This one was so vibrant and spirited that in my imagination, I could see the characters walking around in medieval furs and tunics. It was a fun deviation from my usual read!
Saras was a bundle of contradictions that had me eager to read more. He was charming but also uncouth, enchanting yet frightful. Saras didn't want to get involved with the war because of the past that imprisoned him. I loved the idea of a big, powerful dragon that wanted to be a passivist! Rhea was a physically strong leader but she was also smart and she wasn't afraid to stand for her king and her people. I think that as weird as Saras and Rhea seemed together, they actually worked really well.
Overall, this book was a colorful, action packed read. It won't take you long to become engrossed in this fantastical world and although this is a romance between Saras and Rhea, the Black Isle's troubles were an intriguing background. Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

This was my first Lorelei Moone book, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it a ton. And I'm not one that reads a ton of shifter books these days, but I have to be honest, she complete caught my interest with A Dragon's Treasure. Rhea has just been appointed the General of The Black Isle army, but their ranks have depleted severely, and they're about to go to battle with the Merfolk again, so she needs to find a way to keep the Isle safe. The Elders have declared that there is a way, that she needs to awaken the dragon, Saras, who is held under the bowels of the king's castle. But can she get him to help? Like I said, this was a great read, as it came out of the gates fast, and never slowed down. Rhea was a fantastic heroine, as she was no wilting flower, and her interactions with Saras were entertaining, as he came off so snarky while she doesn't bow down to anyone. But deep down, he's a tortured soul, which provided a great push & pull to lend some angst to the story, especially with his history, and his emotions. Of course, Ms. Moone's talented way with words completely transported me to the Black Isle so it was like I was there in person when all the action started, and now I'm dying for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Bear shifter Rhea has been promoted to the General of Black Isles army since the previous one left them for a life with the daughter of thier enemy. She can't understand why males are willing to change their lives so dramatically for a female.
Saras has been asleep under the castle for centuries. After his dragon side destroyed everything in sight and killed many, he doesn't want to rejoin the world.
The inhabitants of the Black Isles have never been in more danger of losing the war against the people from the sea.
An action packed paranormal romance with strong and brave characters that show us their softer side.
You will enjoy and understand this book better if you read the previous ones.
Great fun.
