Monogamy is unnecessary punishment. At least, that's what Leo Cartwright thinks. He's cheated on every boyfriend and girlfriend he's ever had. Not because he can't keep it in his pants, but because he's never met anyone who made him want to. He's happy bed-hopping his way through life, never committing and never settling. When the fall semester begins, he moves into his dorm room with the intent to party his way through his sophomore year, all the while refusing to face the demons of his past.
Saint wants a real connection with someone, but being a major introvert and having social anxiety makes it difficult. After an incident in high school turned his world upside down, he's sworn off all parties and all fun. The only thing he cares about is getting through college and making something of himself. That is until he meets Leo, the carefree playboy who he wants to punch one moment and kiss the next.
Forced together as college roommates, Leo and Saint bash heads a lot. Saint loves organization and quiet, while Leo is messy and loud. The two men couldn't be more different, but the connection between them grows stronger every day. The party boy and the bookworm; a tale of early morning arguments, funny banter, and sexual tension that sets the pages on fire.
*Cheater and the Saint is an 80k word gay romance with playful banter, heartwarming romance, and two men who can't keep their hands off each other.*
"Cheater and the Saint" Reviews
So, I actually finished this book the morning after it was released. But, I had a family get together and I can't just write a review in five minutes. I overthink everything before I hit publish.
Anyway, this book was nothing less than amazing. I always find that there is at least one character in each of Jaclyn's books that I connect with. Be it, the main character, a side character or even someone that only appears for a short time. This time I had a pretty intense connection with Leo. Probably more intense than any character in any of her other books.
I love people, I love visiting people and love when they visit me. But, I much prefer my solitude. Which is exactly how Leo is. When you read the book, you'll understand.
When Jaclyn first released the title I have to admit, there was a second there when I got a little worried. I really don't like reading about cheating. I'm so in tune with my emotions and the characters that when I read about cheating, it really hurts me. I guess you could say I'm extremely sensitive.
That being said, I went in without a single doubt and I was correct. There isn't a thing to worry about. The title is actually perfect and once you read the book and get to know the characters, I think you will agree.
My emotions were all over the place while reading this book, and it's all Saint's fault!
I definitely recommend. Cheater and the Saint. So, grab a snack, because you won't want to move once you start, relax and get to reading.
Sex crazed, drunk partying and a smart-ass nerd are bits that make the Saint & Leo romance interesting. It was interesting in a low key way. This is a light read, some angst but nothing new or too dark. I thought the name Saint Winter was unique and fun.
An entertaining story. Don't be put off by the title, there is no cheating within the pages of this book.
Leo owns the man-whore label and he never hides that fact. He was fun, lively yet cocky but I enjoyed his friendly banter and the things he did to get a rise out of Saint.
Saint was socially awkward, geeky but sweet in his own little way. Saint surprised me several times but the biggest shocker was how he went from timid to dominant in the bedroom.
Saint and Leo were beautiful together - the fire burning on both ends was fierce and full of undeniable hunger and need.
There was one scene where I kept saying ‘don’t you dare do it Leo’ - like me saying it repeatedly was going to stop things playing out lol.
Amazing story with great characters and a slow burn romance that will leave you wanting more.
Player meets introvert- opposites attract style MM romance
This was a good book but I didn't like the ending so much. I also don't tend to like books with promiscuous MCs so it was hard to like Leo.
What I liked was how relatable Saint was, he was an easy character to like. I hated reading about all the bed hopping Leo did and I hated the whole Callie thing.
Overall, it was an ok story. I'm feeling a possible story between Angel and Jacob. Maybe there will be a sequel and I'd read that.
Oh I loved this, former bad boy, partying and hooking up all the time, redeeming himself and finding love when not expected. Although the path to love didn't run smooth for Leo and Saint, both having issues from the past clouding their judgement and shielding their hearts. The journey was witty, snarky and full of angst. The transformation, especially with Leo was amazing, reinforcing that their is someone for everyone.
